Asthma Foundation of SA - Schools & Preschools
The Asthma Foundation of SA is committed to providing safe and supportive environments for people with asthma and other respiratory conditions. As such our programs cover the entire spectrum of life.
Through funding provided by the Australian government under the Asthma Management Program the Asthma Foundation of SA will work with schools and preschools to provide asthma information and emergency response training, including information about linked conditions. The Asthma Child and Adolescent Program is a national initiative and will also aim to support parents of children with asthma and to support adolescents to improve their asthma self-management.
Our Asthma Friendly Children's Services Program is aimed at services that care for children aged from 0 - 5 years, but also includes Out of School Hours Care. The Asthma Friendly Schools Program provides schools with advice on holistic asthma management for their site and lists “Asthma Friendly” schools on the website. Currently 89% of schools in this state are registered with the program and over 58% of schools are recognised as Asthma Friendly.
