 | Sports & Recreation Asthma Emergency Training
1 in 10 Australians have asthma. Exercise is a trigger for at least 50% of people with asthma.
When we exercise we start to breathe faster and to draw air in through the mouth. This air is cold and dry as it is no longer being warmed and moistened through the nose and can be a trigger for asthma.
Asthma is serious and must not be ignored. In 2009, 411 Australians lost their lives to asthma.
Do officials from your club or organisation know what to do if someone had an asthma attack?
The Asthma Foundation of SA provides Asthma Emergency Training so communities will know what to do in the event of an asthma emergency.
Being able to treat an asthma emergency could save a life. The safety of members of your club should not be jeopardised.
