Asthma Workshop for Pharmacy Assistants (3 hours)
Pharmacies are a key provider of respiratory information. With this in mind the Asthma Foundation of South Australia has developed a course in asthma management specifically for Pharmacy Assistants.
This course reviews the physical processes of asthma, current management and the multiple products available within the pharmacy. A ‘hands-on’ approach is taken to explore and become familiar with the various medications and delivery devices available. The course examines the use of nebulisers and peak flow monitors, and strategies to ensure customer suitability. Participants will also learn how to recognise and respond to an asthma emergency.
